Slurpzak is an initiative of FTM Floodmanagement. Started in 2018 by Bas Poelmans and Bastiaan Bor. With the aim of advising Dutch households and organisations on simple and effective smart-solutions to combat flooding.
There are numerous commercial solutions on the market. Many of these products quickly cost hundreds to thousands of euros. Moreover, you can often only use them in one specific situation. Think of water partitions custom-made for a doorway.

We started investigating how to combat flooding in all kinds of situations with one affordable solution. This resulted in the Slurpzak. A water-absorbing and retaining innovation that is produced entirely CO2 neutrally in the Netherlands. Moreover, almost all the materials used are 100% recyclable.
Together with our partner VP Delta from TU Delft, we have tested and improved the Slurpzak over and over again. We sewed together test bags ourselves until they met our high standards.
